About

Every wiki should have at least a few rules. This creates boundaries users cannot cross. Rules also help visitors find out what kind of wiki they're on. Rules should be respected and followed. Depending on the rule you break, you may receive a warning, a few warnings, or an immediate block. These rules apply to everyone on the wiki.

Rules

Here are all the general social rules in this wiki.

Be Kind

Be kind to everyone on this wiki and assume good faith.

Vandalism/False Information

If someone is putting false information on the wiki, politely ask them if they know it is true or not and civilly inform them. If they continue to put false information on the wiki it becomes vandalism, and you must contact an admin.

No Non-Family Friendly Comments/Content

Do not ever put any non-family friendly content on this wiki, it is a safe place for everyone of all ages. If you are caught saying anything non-family friendly, you will be immediately blocked for a ranging amount of time.

Swearing

Swearing is also prohibited on this wiki. Please do not swear in any of your posts, edits, messages, etc. If you are caught swearing you will get a warning.

Discussion Page Rules

Our discussion page is a safe place for everyone on this wiki. We have rules to make sure everyone knows the limits of what they can post or what they may see.

Topic

Posts may only be horse related. If you are caught posting about off-topic subjects, you will get a notice, then warnings. You may post something that is fictional, about an online game, books, etc. As long as it's horse-related, it is allowed.

Media

Pictures that have blood/gore, inappropriate content, or drugs of any kind are prohibited. Inappropriate content and drugs are never allowed on this wiki. If you are messaging someone about a topic where a horse may be being abused, you must ask them first if they are okay with seeing a picture with blood.

DNI's

If you have an issue with someone, please just ignore them instead of placing a DNI. It is more effective to ignore someone, as DNI's only make situations bitter.

Editing Rules

These rules apply when you are editing this wiki.

Cite

If you search for something on the internet and put it on the wiki, you must cite it. This includes books, articles, etc. Unless someone told you about this fact/breed, or you did not search it and you just remembered it, you do not have to cite it.

Art

You may not put drawings in the pages, unless they are realistic, or they come from an organization. Drawings are for the discussion page.

Vandalism

Vandalism is strictly prohibited and consequences for vandalism are severe. The admins keep in mind that not everyone is trying to put false information on purpose, but deleting everything in a page or putting nonsense on it is common sense.

Language

This is an American English wiki, not a British Wiki (anymore). This does not matter in the discussion pages or message walls, but when editing pages please speak English. For example, British English uses spelling such as colour, centre, grey. American English uses spelling such as color, center, gray. This is not a significant rule, and if a page is named using British spelling, as long as it's not irrelevant, it will not be deleted.
