Gray is a modifier of coat color in horses. Gray horses are born colored (bay, black, chestnut, etc) and lighten in color as they age. There are different stages of gray. A single horse may go through all stages of gray or only one or two. Most gray horses end up nearly white.

  • White coat flecked with brown, red or black specks.
