Life[]
Anna Sewell has always had a love for horses. She noticed how poorly they were treated, and wrote her best-seller, Black Beauty. This book was a first-person fictional tale of the life of a faithful carriage horse. Anna, however, had to write this book while she was terribly sick. She had broken both her ankles and could barely stand. She relied heavily on horses to get around and witnessed how poorly they were being treated. Sewell died a few months after writing Black Beauty, but she was able to see her best-seller become famous before she died.
